What Makes a Bridge a Bridge?

Basswood sticks, Glue

Inspired by my questions from the bridge building contest, I wanted to design a bridge that broke the traditional expectations–a bridge that maintained its essential elements, yet reimagined its purpose.

Rather than serving purely as a tool for crossing, I wanted my bridge to become a place where people would stop and experience.

I redesigned my original structure into a modified form that connected two points in a nonlinear path. While it did not serve its function in the most practical way, it remained functional as a bridge. The final model was made using basswood sticks, and it represented my exploration of the boundaries in architecture.
