The Map Pavilion (USC Summer 3D)

Dimensions

Various

Medium

Rhino3D, Bristol Paper, Photoshop, Illustrator

Date

June-July 2025

From the 2D floor plan I created, I took the shapes and forms to create a pavilion for public use. I used Rhino3D to rotate and extrude three-dimensional forms using the lines and shapes of the 2D diagram. The pavilion became a structure derived from the map of its very site. During the process, I was able to learn many Rhino3D commands and techniques.

Taking different elevations of the final 3D model of the pavilion, I created paper models for certain sections of the structure. During the process, I was able to go from paper to digital and eventually back to paper.
