After selecting a building I often passed in downtown Seoul, I photographed it from every possible angle, zoomed in and out. Using these images as fragments, I reconstructed three facades in Photoshop. The reimagined facades had traces of the original yet formed an entirely new identity.
I wanted to create an architectural collage expressing how a single object could be reinterpreted through different viewpoints and time.

As I assembled the collage, I enjoyed the play between rule and abstraction. Each image had to connect carefully, and although not perfectly aligned, the fragments gradually merged into one. The collage had the basic identifiers of the building while also disrupting its traditional form.

Over the years of walking past the building, I had formed various impressions of it. The collage served as a connection for all those fragments, both mentally and physically.

This later inspired my 3D Collage Building Recomposition.
